The
best way to treat Antique Farm Tractors with
horizontal engines is to flood your Farm
tractor's cylinders
with Engine Release.
Remove the intake manifold from the head of the engine, open the compression releases for both cylinders and pour Engine Release down both intake ports until they fill up to the top.
Cover the ports with rags. Let the Engine Release soak in for a week. Now tow the John Deere tractor in second gear to bump start it by engaging the clutch with the compression releases open.
The
idea is to get the engine turning, blowing out the
cylinders and catching the corrosion and Engine Release with your rags.
Once you've got the Engine turning, reconnect your intake manifolds, shampoo the engine to remove any traces of Engine Release. Then you can consider starting your Engine.
John Deere Tractors never die and John Deere Tractor parts are available everywhere on the internet. Important: if the tractor has no brakes, don't tow! If you're not sure of what you are doing, find a neighbor to help. Click here for more information on antique farm tractors and other machinery.
