Case tractors have a long history, but their design had several weak points

Jerome Increase Case started his company in 1842. Case tractors have been around from the beginning.

J.I. Case was a very innovative equipment manufacturer, producing steam engines, road building equipment, steam rollers and road graders.

So Innovative was he, with so many model changes, it almost made finding two case models that looked alike difficult. Used tractor parts for Case are available, because of the 1000s of dead cases laying around.

Here is a picture of Case Model 930, that at the time was highest horsepower two wheel drive tractor available in Canada. It had a good motor, but the transmission was a joke.

Hydraulics were double action on the lift arms, which means you can get stuck in your living room.

Case Tractors are not one of my favorite pieces of antique farm equipment.
