The
Farmall tractor,
also known as an International Harvester,
was probably one of the most popular tractors used in row crop
vegetable and
cotton production in the United States.
Many shapes and sizes are still available as good used farm tractors today.
Farmall tractor parts can be found all over the southern United States. They just don't seem to die.
In 1902 after months of negotiations, the McCormick Harvesting machine company, Deering Harvester Company and others were combined into one company known today as the International Harvester Company.
After years of development and a variety of prototypes, International Harvester introduced the first Farmall to the world.
By
the time the 50s rolled around, some models of Farmalls
exceeded 390,000 units in use.
Over the years, a variety of models were produced, each one evolving from the previous generation. Higher rear axle clearances, automatic braking, closely spaced front wheels to run between crop rows, and increased horse power were among the improvements.
