Here
is a photo of a GM 6-71, one of the most popular industrial
diesel engines ever!
They also may be used as marine diesel engines.
They can also be used as power for antique trucks and military vehicles.
As industrial engines, GMs have done very well in all environments, except in dusty conditions.
Here is a photo of a 71 series GM, with the inspection cover removed, with a good view of a piston skirt. Oval ports as seen in the photo go right through the cylinder liner, giving access to the pistons, rings and liner.

Here is a close up of the front crank pulley nut. All diesel engines are equipped this way.

Here is a photo of an impact and socket we will use on the front crank pulley nut to free up the engine after its Engine Release treatment.

Because repairing seized industrial machinery requires specialist knowledge, please contact us with detailed questions relating to unseizing your industrial diesel engines.
